The cruise service from Cochin to Dubai has received approval from the central government of India, providing an anticipated cost-effective and convenient transportation option between these two destinations. The route, covering Beypore (Kozhikode) to Kochi and then Dubai, spans a distance of 4000 km and is expected to commence soon, although the exact start date has yet to be announced.

The proposed itinerary includes a departure from Beypore (Kozhikode) on Day 1, an arrival at Kochi on Day 2, a departure from Kochi on Day 3, and a final arrival at Dubai on Day 4. The estimated charges for a one-way ticket range from INR 10,000 to 15,000, but it’s essential to note that both the itinerary and charges are subject to change.

The cruise service, championed by the central government of India and initiated by Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, is expected to bring significant benefits to travelers. Despite my inability to identify the cruise operator’s name in the available sources, the President of the Indian Association in Sharjah has provided additional details. Ticket prices vary between AED 442 and AED 663, depending on the journey’s duration, with potential variations during peak seasons. Passengers are permitted 200 kg of baggage, and the voyage from UAE to Kerala is estimated to take three days.

The ship, anticipated to accommodate 1250 passengers, will initially call at two ports—Kochi and Beypore—with a potential third port option under consideration, likely Vizhinjam. The project, supported by the Kerala government, is a collaboration between the Sharjah Indian Association and the private company Ananthpuri Shipping and Logistics Private Limited, with involvement from the Non-Resident Keralites Affairs (NORKA).

Apart from the evident cost savings, this cruise service promises a distinctive travel experience, offering passengers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea.
